Founding member of (EMOP) Vienna’s photo festival was initiated in 2004 as a biennial called Eyes On. In 2019 it changed its name to FOTO WIEN. Once an insider event for Vienna’s lively photography scene, it is now Austria’s largest photography festival aimed at a broader audience of people interested in art as well as professionals. It is funded by the cultural department of the city of Vienna. From 2023 on FOTO WIEN will be organized by FOTO ARSENAL WIEN, Austria’s new center of photography and lens-based media. This year the city celebrates its 10th edition.
